In class you have discussed the best ways to judge the newspaper articles you are going to write.
Before you write your newspaper article, it is important to know exactly what you need to do in order to get the grade you want. This is where a rubric comes in. It details exactly what you will be graded on and also details what you need to do to reach your target grade in each of the areas you will be graded.

Now, you will have the opportunity to create the rubric that Mrs. Horne will use to grade the work you do for the Newspaper article you write.
Follow the directions below to create your own rubric and happy grading!
1. Identify at least four (4) categories that you can include in your rubric that you think are essential to a well produced newspaper article. We will discuss this as a class so be sure to pay close attention.
2. Go to Rubistar
3. Here you can modify one that Rubistar already has created for a newspaper article (see "newspaper" in the list under "Products"). You are given the option to change the way everything is written and should also review each part of the rubric to make sure you agree with it.
4. Create the rubric.
5. Below is how the details should be completed for the Rubric Information page.
Rubric Project Name: Type of article you are writing. For example: Sports/Entertainment, etc.
First Name: First Initial
Last Name: Last Name
Salutation: Mr or Ms (no Drs please!)
